Day of Europe

Europe Day commemorates the signing of the ‘Schuman Declaration’ on 9 May 1950. An ambitious plan to ensure lasting peace in post-war Europe that is seen as the beginning of what is now the European Union. “The importance of working for peace in Europe is even more apparent, as we emphasize our unity and solidarity with Ukraine” – European Union.

This May, the EU institutions invite us to a wide range of online and field activities throughout the EU Member States, as well as at the EU Institutions House in Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg. As the European Year of Youth 2022 shines in the spotlight of Europe’s youth and with the voices of citizens reinforced by the Conference on the Future of Europe, there has never been a better time to come together, to discuss challenges with which we all face and create a better future for. A Europe that works for all.
